THE NATIONAL POPULATION COMMISSION WAS INAUGURATED BEING A STATUTORY BODY GIVEN THE RESPONSIBILITY TO CONDUCT A FREE AND FAIR POPULATION COUNT FOR THE COUNTRY BY THE BABANGIDA ADMINISTRATION. THIS BODY WAS THEN GIVEN A THREE – YEAR MANDATE TO CONDUCT AN ACCURATE CENSUS FOR THE COUNTRY.
